Michelle joined GRASP in the fall of 2015 as the GRASP advisor at John Marshall High School.
Michelle McQueen is a retired Information Technology Manager from Defense Supply Center Richmond where she worked 39 ½ years. She has more than 25 years of progressively responsible experience directing and leading IT specialists in the areas of computer programming, systems analysis, and computer program management. She has led these individuals and her organization to award-winning systems and projects.
Ms. McQueen is the Charter Organization Representative and Cub Scout Leader for Cub Scout Pack 496, where she has served for more than 17 years. There she has received one of scouting’s highest honors, the Award of Merit for her leadership to the pack and the scout council. Michelle is also the CEO of a female minority-owned small business, Events By Choice, LLC. Ms. McQueen has one daughter and one grandson.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Science in Administration Degree from Central Michigan University; as well as a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management. In addition, Michelle is a member of the Supervisory Committee for Henrico Federal Credit Union and serves on the Youth Services Board for Chesterfield County.
