Bert Pope-Matthews, AmeriCorps ACES Coordinator, GRASP Advisor

Rebertha Pope-Matthews coordinates GRASP's AmeriCorps Initiative in partnership with Richmond Public Schools and the City of Richmond.  She earned a B.S. in special education, a M.Ed. in guidance and counseling, and her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Virginia State University. Bert’s thirty years in education have included working as a school counselor and counseling coordinator on the elementary, middle, and high school levels; as the College Liaison for An Achievable Dream Middle and High School of Newport News; and as an adjunct professor in the Early Childhood Program and Educational Talent Search instructor at Reynolds Community College. Bert is also the in-school GRASP advisor at Matoaca High School.
