Renee Vandevander is the GRASP advisor at Highland High School.
Renee graduated from Mary Baldwin College with an undergraduate degree in studio art and creative writing. Renee is an alumna of Highland High School and appreciates the opportunity to help the students in her hometown understand the importance of a college education. Renee was the first in her family to obtain a college degree and is ready to help others achieve that same goal. Her past experience includes participating in the work study program at the Mary Baldwin College theater department and leading a writing group for middle school students. Renee initiated the GRASP program at Highland High School and also implements the SOAR Virginia® early commitment program for GRASP at the high school. Renee is also an art teacher at Highland High School.
