Percy earned a BS Degree in Industrial Education/Electronics from Virginia State University. Prior to graduating in 1966, he joined the IBM Corporation as a Junior Instructor in Manufacturing Training teaching electronics, and he progressed through the ranks to become a Corporate Executive. Percy held more than 24 positions in six different divisions of IBM before retiring in 1996. During his career, he participated in two special assignments; one was as a Presidential Executive (while on leave from IBM) in the US Department of Health & Human Services during the administrations of Presidents Carter and Reagan. Secondly, he was an IBM Faculty Loan Executive at Virginia Union University in the Sydney Lewis School of Business. Just after retiring, he earned a Master’s Degree in Vocational Technical Education from Virginia State University (May 1997}. Pollard has worked with youth and students throughout his career serving as a friend, coach and mentor. Recently, he was a Career Coach for Rappahannock Community College at Central High School where he also has served as the Attendance Officer.
