Sue Straughan

Sue is a graduate of Mary Washington College with a degree in mathematics.  She spent her career working as a civilian computer scientist for the Navy.  One of her favorite ‘side duties’ was mentoring and coaching junior professionals regarding education and career growth.  After retiring with 36 years of service, Sue became the Rappahannock Community College Career Coach for Washington & Lee High School (W&L) in Montross, VA.  In this role she provided career and college coaching to students in the GEAR UP Program until it’s end in 2012.  Sue continued to volunteer at W&L providing after school college planning and application sessions, supporting VA College Application Week, and special events such as Career Fairs, College Fairs, Super FAFSA Saturday, college tours, etc.
