Jennifer Washington

Jennifer Washington is the GRASP Advisor for Henrico High School - henrico@grasp4va.org

Jennifer considers herself a professional sailor, helping students and adults navigate rough and often uncharted "college and career waters." A native of Wisconsin (and a low-key Packers fan), she has over 15 years of experience in teaching, coaching, and counseling. Jennifer started her career as a K-12 teacher and school counselor with Milwaukee Public Schools, where she helped students go from where they were to where they wanted to be. From 2017-2022, she served as the Coordinator for Postsecondary Pathways for Virginia’s Community College System. While at the VCCS, she managed the High School Career Coach Program, providing guidance and training to over 130 coaches across the Commonwealth. Presently, Jennifer is engaged in a passion project where she provides free career coaching and advice, primarily via short-form videos. When not helping others strive for and achieve success, Jennifer and her husband run a Richmond-based hiking and adventure Meetup group.
