Daphne Waring-Sorrell

Daphne Waring-Sorrell is the GRASP Advisor for Hampton - hampton@grasp4va.org and Smithfield - smithfield@grasp4va.org

Daphne Waring-Sorrell, is the new GRASP Advisor at Hampton High and Smithfield High Schools. She's a graduate of the Portsmouth Public School System and obtained a BME from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. 

She retired after 35 fulfilling years as a high school orchestra director, middle school band and strings director, ending her teaching career as an elementary music teacher from the school she attended as a child, Douglass Park Elementary.  What a full circle!

She's excited about this new opportunity to work with our future leaders. Empowering our youth to aspire to reach their full potential after their post secondary education through GRASP!

She is the mother of one adult child and one grandchild.
