Joyce has professional experience in college planning, counseling, tutoring and peer training. She currently tutors in Richmond Public Schools, providing academic help and encouragement to disadvantaged students. For three years prior to this, Joyce was the assistant director of a for-profit college planning and financial aid service. Her focus was “helping students and families to get through the college years in the best financial shape possible.” Joyce has served the Hanover County Community Services Board as a mental health assessor and counselor in the adolescent substance abuse program. She is affiliated with the Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International - Chi Sigma. Joyce earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from VCU and her master's in allied health from MCV.
