Maria Burrus joined GRASP in 2026 as the Spanish-English Bilingual Advisor - mburruss@grasp4va.org

Originally from Bolivia, Maria moved to the United States more than twenty years ago to pursue new academic and professional opportunities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Television as well as an MBA with a specialization in Marketing. With over fifteen years of experience as a Spanish teacher, she brings both cultural insight and pedagogical passion to the classroom. Since 2011, she has been a dedicated advocate for the English Learner (EL) community, working to promote equitable access and meaningful support for multilingual students and their families. Beyond her professional roles, Maria is an avid traveler who draws inspiration from exploring cultures around the world.
