Michelle V Ford is a Regional Testing and Training Coordinator with the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC). She is responsible for TABE, GED Ready, GED and CRC testing supervision at facilities in the South-Central Region and Western Region of Virginia.
She has served on the Buckingham County’s Slate River District #6 School Board as a Member. She is willing and able to assist countywide with questions pertaining to school-related issues.
Michelle has an Associate in Science in Education from Piedmont Virginia Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Mary Baldwin College as well as Post-Graduate Teacher’s Licensure. She possesses a Master of Science in Human Services with a Concentration in Counseling Studies from Capella University. She served 8 years in United States Army Reserve with an MOS of 91D-10, Operating Room Specialist.
Michelle is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Farmville Alumnae Chapter, a sorority that holds a high standard of public service and education. She is also a member of the Buckingham Branch of the NAACP and is chair of the Legal Redress committee and a member of the South James River Community Foundation Board where she primarily focuses on education-related committees and activities.
Michelle serves as Church Clerk for Baptist Union Baptist Church, Dillwyn, VA. The best job and position she holds is being mom to Jael, CaLix and Sidra, and grandmother to Emersyn. One of Michelle’s favorite quotes comes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others’?”.
