Mike Roberson

Mike Roberson joined GRASP in 2024 as the advisor to Castlewood High School.

Mike was born and raised in Lee County and is a graduate of Pennington High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science in History from Clinch Valley College and his Master of Education in Administration from East Tennessee State University.

Starting his career as a seventh grade Social Studies teacher, assistant football and volleyball coach, and head soccer coach in Wythe County, he went on to become a World Geography teacher and the head football coach at Castlewood High School.  After trading his coach’s whistle for a tie and becoming an administrator, he served Russell County as Assistant Principal of Castlewood Elementary, Assistant Principal of Castlewood High School, Director of Russell County Alternative Center, and, finally, Principal of Castlewood High School.  He retired from that position in 2022 and joined Modern Woodmen of America as a financial advisor.

Mike and his wife Pam, CHS librarian, have two daughters:  Savannah, a high school English teacher, and Skylar, a third-year Physical Therapy student. They live with two cats and a dog.  Mike enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, exploring, gardening, and creating masterpieces in the kitchen.

Mike is happy to return to the school where he spent most of his thirty-three-year career and is so excited to work with students in the GRASP program.
