Velma Bruce

Velma Bruce is the GRASP Advisor for Brunswick High School - brunswick@grasp4va.org

Prior to retirement, Velma was the Director of Guidance and Counseling at Brunswick High School. She retired in August, 2014 after 40 years in public education. Velma received her BS in Elementary Education from St. Paul’s College (Lawrenceville, VA) and her MS in Guidance and Counseling from Virginia State University (Petersburg, VA). Additional coursework was completed through the University of Virginia.

Velma is a firm believer in education. She has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. She is a proud parent of graduates of Southside Virginia Community College, St. Paul’s College, Virginia State University, Old Dominion University, Florida Institute of Technology, George Mason University, and Fortis College.
